A National Conversation on Race

On the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s last sermon, a call was made for a national conversation on race by Rev. John H. Thomas, the President of the United Church of Christ (UCC) along with Rev. Dr.  Michael Kinnamon, the General Secretary of the National Council of Churches and Rev. Otis Moss III, the pastor of Chicago's Trinity UCC.  The call has been made in the wake of the national attention surrounding Trinity UCC and Rev. Jeremiah Wright, its retiring pastor.  The media controversy over various remarks made by Wright has sparked a number of written reflections that are worth considering during this time of intentional conversation on race.  Here are a few articles to consider:
