Book Discussion Groups
Groups form with the intention of reading and discussing a book of interest over a period of weeks or months. Groups may form from friends wanting to read a popular faith-themed book, a committee establishing the opportunity to learn more about an issue, or as a part of a study set during a church season such as Advent or Lent. A few books that groups have read and discussed in the last few years include:
- The Great Emergence: How Christianity is Changing and Why, by Phyllis Tickle
- Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer
- You Welcomed Me: Loving Refugees and Immigrants Because God First Loved Us, by Kent Annan
- Grateful, by Diana Butler Bass
- Cathedral on Fire: A Church Handbook for the Climate Crisis, by Brooks Berndt
- Glorify: Reclaiming the Heart of Progressive Christianity, by Emily C. Heath
